PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — Registration is now open for Save The Bay‘s Lighthouse Tours, which offers tours of more than 2 dozen historic lighthouse sites in Narragansett Bay, as well as breathtaking views of the Newport Pell Bridge, Gaspee Point, Prudence Island, and historic Fort Adams.
While the tours do not start until June, visitors can now register for one or more of these narrated cruises along the bay.
The tours include information about how lighthouses played an important role in the history of Narragansett Bay and how current lighthouses are actively assisting in marine navigation. All tours offer participants a view of historic lighthouses against a backdrop of the bay.
Visitors should be prepared for a few hours on the water with hats, sunscreen, light outerwear, and snacks. Non-alcoholic beverages, water, and binoculars are provided. Cameras are welcome!
Four (4) different lighthouse tours are offered
