More than 2,100 people are expected to attend the annual event at Potter’s Cove off Prudence Island, while an additional 4,500 people are interested in attending, according to the Facebook event page. Meanwhile, organizers are keeping a close watch on the weather.
“We will be watching this storm and make appropriate decisions,” wrote Kayla Meegan on the Facebook event page.

About the event:
“Celebrate the boating lifestyle with MarineMax (who recently canceled) with live entertainment, prizes and fun! Raft up in Potters Cove with existing friends or make some new ones to enjoy the day with!
“A designated swim area around the band boat is provided as a safe area to lounge in a float and watch the band. As always everyone is welcome to bring their dinghy’s, jet ski’s, paddle boards etc. to cruise around and check out all of the action – we do ask when you are doing so to be aware of your surroundings, be responsible and respectful of others.
“We also ask that during this event everyone please be aware of their belongings and what is put into the water. Always make sure to bring floats and personal items back aboard your boat before leaving the cove and respect the water by never littering!”
The band, MarineMax, canceled Friday morning due to the weather.
“Due to heavy winds and uncertainty of pending storms MarineMax will unfortunately not be attending Aquapalooza this year with the band,” wrote Meegan.
“Everyone who is willing is more than welcome to party on without us! A big thank you to Wayz and Means for providing incredible entertainment in past years and for understanding safety comes first.
“We hope everyone makes a safe and informed decision if they are still considering attending. Feel free to swing by our MarineMax office to pick up your Aquapalooza koozie while supplies last if interested!”
The event is free and open to all boaters. However, the only way to reach Potter’s Cove is by boat.
