PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — Atria Aquidneck Place, a local senior living community, will host a 3-way cooking competition with the Portsmouth Fire and Police Departments as part of Atria Senior Living’s annual company-wide Chef Showdown.
The Chef Showdown will take place Thursday, July 20, at 2 p.m. at Atria Aquidneck Place, 125 Quaker Hill Place.
The competitors will go head-to-head in a cooking showdown. There’s only one rule: all recipes require a summertime staple ingredient – corn.
The competition will be judged by a panel of residents and local leaders.
The winner will receive bragging rights for at least one year. Atria Aquidneck Place residents and family members, and the general public are invited to attend.
Similar events will take place at Atria communities across the United States and Canada throughout July, which is National Culinary Arts Month.
Atria Senior Living has earned a reputation for culinary experiences that are nutritious, creative and delightful for residents and families.
“We also believe people belong together,” according to a statement from Atria Senior Living. “That’s why we continuously look for partnerships and opportunities that allow our residents to engage with the broader community outside the walls of our buildings – with the goal of creating fun, rewarding events for everyone involved.”
