PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — Common Fence Music will present singer-songwriters Jeffrey Foucault and Kris Delmhorst in concert in May.

The concert will take place at Common Fence Point Hall, 933 Anthony Road, Portsmouth, RI.

Though married since 2004, acclaimed folk artists Jeffrey Foucault and Kris Delmhorst have largely built their careers separately. Wisconsin-bred Foucault is known for his lean country-folk aesthetic and songwriting talents that are hailed as among the best of his generation; Brooklyn-raised songwriter, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Delmhorst has built a broad and eclectic repertoire of folk and rock originals that showcase her sophisticated melodies and hauntingly open vocals.
Recently, however, the pair took to the road together for the first time in support of Delmhorst’s October 2017 release, The Wild¸ which also marks the couple’s first foray into the studio together. Featuring a band drawn from players they both share a long history with as bandmates and friends, the album merges Delmhorst’s and Foucault’s unique strengths to deliver a darkly hopeful, fiercely wise collection of songs.
Delmhorst, likewise, is just one of a host of collaborators including Billy Conway, Jeremy Moses Curtis, Eric Heywood and Bo Ramsey to be featured on Foucault’s forthcoming release Blood Brothers (June 22, 2018, Blueblood Records), the much-anticipated follow-up to his critically acclaimed 2015 release Salt As Wolves.
Featuring two distinct sets of music, this May 5th concert offers a rare and intimate performance by two of the country’s foremost songwriters, and the first time either has performed on the Common Fence Music stage.
The Common Fence Point Hall is located at 933 Anthony Road, Portsmouth, RI. Per tradition, all shows at CFM’s Portsmouth venue are BYOB & Picnic. Concert-goers are invited to bring food and beverages to enjoy during the performances.
BBQ pulled pork plates, seasonal soups, desserts, coffee, tea and soft drinks will also be available for purchase. The hall is fully accessible.
