PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — The family of the late Malcolm ‘Mac’ Chrupcala is raising funds for a memorial fund to benefit both students of music and animals in need.
A GoFundMe fundraiser was created Tuesday night with a goal of $2,000. The GoFundMe page dedicated to the memorial fund reads as follows:
Mac Chrupcala, an accomplished musician, passed away peacefully surrounded by love on November 26th, 2016. He was a loving father, husband, educator, and jazz pianist. His talent and passion for his profession was one rarely seen today.
To commemorate his passing, Mac’s family has decided to set up the Mac Chrupcala Memorial Fund for friends and family to donate to in lieu of flowers. This memorial fund will be changed to a Scholarship Fund where the proceeds will go to help a young aspiring student start their musical career.
Mac was also a lover of animals. To honor this, a small portion of the Memorial Fund proceeds will be donated to Northbound Pound Puppies, a 501(c)3 animal rescue organization he supported.
