Fire damages 3 homes in Common Fence Point

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — The Portsmouth Fire Department and neighboring departments are attempting to extinguish a fire, which heavily damaged three homes in Common Fence Point early Wednesday. 

At 2:36 a.m., police and Fire were dispatched to a house fire at 175 Narragansett Boulevard in Portsmouth. The property is located near Brewer Yacht Sales. 

The house at 175 Narragansett Boulevard, built in 1950, is owned by Steven and William G. Lopes, according to public records. 

The police department along with the Portsmouth Fire Department, other surrounding fire departments, and the Rhode Island State Fire Marshal are on scene at this time.

Three residential buildings in total have been damaged by the fire.

More information will be provided as it becomes available.
