PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — Flying Santa Claus will pay a special visit to Prudence Island via helicopter this weekend while Rudolph and the rest of the reindeer gang stay at home to rest up for the special night.
Known locally as “Flying Santa,” the jolly Santa Claus will arrive on Prudence Island Sunday, Dec. 11, at 7:30 a.m., at the Prudence Island Lighthouse (known locally as the Sandy Point Lighthouse).
Residents are welcome to come out and visit with Santa. A raffle drawing for the 10/12 Club’s grand prize will be held at the Prudence Island fire station after Santa’s visit.
