Heading to the air show? Here’s what you need to know

NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. — Portsmouth residents, prepare for practice runs overhead! The Rhode Island National Guard Open Air Show returns across the bay to Quonset State Airport this weekend, May 20 to 21. 

Gates open each day, Saturday and Sunday, at 9 a.m. Flying starts at 10 a.m. The show ends at 4:30 p.m. 

Sponsored by the National Guard Association of Rhode Island, the event is free and open to the public. 

Pets, coolers, backpacks, weapons, and drones are not allowed at the event. 

Parking

Visitors to the air show will be directed to appropriate parking areas; a $10 Parking Donation is very much appreciated. Your donation directly supports the Hasbro Children’s Hospital.

Shuttle buses will be running between the outlying parking areas and the show site throughout the show days. 

Train

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation will offer free train service to the show Saturday and Sunday. ​
