PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — Hinckley, a yacht builder for nearly 90 years, recently announced additional details about its new Picnic Boat 40, which was unveiled at the Newport International Boat Show.

“We are excited to continue our legacy of innovation by unveiling the largest and most advanced Picnic Boat Hinckley has ever developed,” said Peter O’Connell, president and CEO of The Hinckley Company.

The hull of the new Picnic Boat 40 was designed by naval architect Michael Peters and is built in Maine with Hinckley’s TriGuard® Epoxy Construction. Aramid fiber/E-glass forms a durable outer skin and is paired with lightweight carbon fiber for the inner skin. Tough and lightweight Corecell M Foam is used as an inner core for rigidity. The hull is then infused and post-cured with Epoxy resin for the lightest strength and durability for a faster, more fuel-efficient ride. This durability is backed by a lifetime hull and deck warranty.

The powered hull-side door eases entry onto the boat and it can be remotely opened. Inside, the layout flows from transom to helm with lounging space, a wet bar, and full sun coverage by Sureshade.
