The Honey Dewdrops bring their unique blend of folk and roots music to Portsmouth.
Now celebrating their ninth year of touring, The Honey Dewdrops are a tight-knit Americana duo – married in life and music. Often drawing comparisons to the folk music institution that is Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, the closeness of sound and the musical compatibility that Virginia-natives Laura Wortman and Kagey Parrish possess is unmistakable.
Each share vocals and guitars, augmented by Parrish’s mandolin and Wortman’s work on banjo and harmonica. The effect is to leave listeners with only what matters: the heart of the song and clarity over ornamentation.
After leaving their home base of Virginia and spending two years on the road, Parrish and Wortman settled in Baltimore, Maryland in 2014. The songs rock and reel, weaving dynamics and harmonies from one track to another, proving that The Honey Dewdrops bear the mark of musical maturity – in performance, arrangement, and songwriting.
The Common Fence Point Hall is located at 933 Anthony Road, Portsmouth, RI. Per tradition, all shows at CFM’s Portsmouth venue are BYOB & Picnic. Concert-goers are invited to bring food and beverages to enjoy during the performances.
Seasonal soups, homemade refreshments, and soft-drinks will also be available for purchase. The hall is fully accessible. Ticket prices vary.
