PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — The Portsmouth School District is considering moving 4th grade back to its elementary schools next school year. Here’s a look at what the move could mean in numbers. 

The district presented the following enrollment numbers at the Portsmouth School Committee Meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 28.

The numbers show what moving 4th grade back to the elementary schools – Melville and Hathaway Elementary Schools – could look like in numbers for the 2017-2018 school year.

The 4th grade was moved to the Portsmouth Middle School six years ago.
