PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — The Newport Car Museum will offer free admission for dads this Father’s Day, Sunday, June 18.
From the Newport Car Museum:
“Forget the tie as a gift on Father’s Day and take your special guy to the Newport Car Museum instead! All Dads get in FREE this Sunday when accompanied by a family member.”
The museum will also hold a special “Hoods Up” session from 8 to 10 a.m. on Saturday. “This will be the public’s first chance to see what’s under the hoods of every car in the Newport Car Museum collection.
“We’ll ‘open up’ the cars for inspection between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. and maybe even start up one or two of your favorites for a roaring good time.”
The private collection of some 50 automobiles at the Newport Car Museum focuses on six decades of modern industrial automotive design and celebrates cars as works of art. From the 1950s to the present, separate exhibits of Ford/Shelby Cars, Corvettes, World Cars, Fin Cars and Chrysler Mopars have been carefully curated to appeal to men as well as women and to all generations, from grandparents to parents to children.
Tickets are $18 for adults, ages 16 to 65; $15 for senior citizens, military, students, and AAA members; and $5 for children, ages 5 to 15.
Tickets can be bought at the door or online at www.newportcarmuseum.org where more information and directions are available.
