PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — Priscilla (Lake) Anthony, 90, of Portsmouth, RI died on Monday, October 16, 2017, at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of the late Neal I. Anthony.

Priscilla was born on October 26, 1926, in Fall River, MA to the late Harry Lake and Doris (Hastie) Lake. She grew up in Tiverton and soon began a long career as the Office Manager with the Portsmouth Water and Fire Board. “Gram”, as she was known to her family, was a dedicated babysitter, helper, and spoiler to 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She spent every free minute helping care for each of them. Over the years, she loved a trip to Gray’s Ice Cream, making cross-stitch and knitting, but it always came back to family. For the last 4 years, she was cared for at St. Elizabeth’s manor as Parkinson’s took away her physical abilities, but her heart and mind remained strong to the end.

She is survived by her beloved family, her daughters Linda Soares (Maurice) of Portsmouth, Judith Levesque (Ronald) of Portsmouth, and her son Robert Anthony (Jeanne) of Indiantown, Florida. She leaves 6 grandchildren, Kimberly Hollen, Steven Domingues, Douglas Levesque, Melissa Devolve, Laura Anthony and Leslie Park; and 13 great-grandchildren, including two sets of twin girls: Madison and Jack Hollen, Savannah and Taylor Domingues, Kylie Rolando, Logan Anthony, Hope, Tate, and Tess Levesque, and Mia and Charlie, Hadley and Maddox Devolve.

She also leaves her sister in law Ethel Lake of Tiverton, a cousin Helen Waite of Tiverton, and a dear friend Jean Peckham of Middletown. She was preceded in death by her husband Neal and her brother Donald Lake.

A graveside funeral service will be on Friday, October 20 at 12:30 pm at St. Mary’s Episcopal Churchyard, 324 East Main Road, Portsmouth.
