Obituary: Robert ‘Bob’ Sousa, 64, a PHS graduate

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — Robert “Bob” Sousa, 64 of Cocoa Beach, FL passed away on Monday, July 2, 2018 at home surrounded by family.

Born in Newport, Rhode Island, he graduated from Portsmouth High in 1971, and Rhode Island College in 1975.

After working for Newport Jai Alai, he was an educator for Brevard County Florida School District as a school teacher at Merritt Island H.S., and an IT Department head at McNair Middle School in Rockledge for over 25 years.

He and his wife also founded Wahoo Coffee in Cocoa Beach in 2005. Survivors include his wife; Talitha Silvers of Cocoa Beach, mother; Marion Sousa of Portsmouth, children; Chad Sousa of Canton OH, Marci Sousa of Portsmouth, and Niki Knihnicki of Cocoa Beach.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 10 am at St. Anthony’s Church, 2836 E Main Rd, Portsmouth, RI 02871, followed by a graveside service in Portsmouth Cemetery. There will also be a small family gathering to celebrate his life. Online tribute at
