PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — Despite snow on the ground, Portsmouth students joined their peers throughout the country Wednesday in a national walkout to support gun reform and to honor the 17 students and teachers who died in Parkland, Florida, last month.

The Portsmouth High School walkout, which was organized by students, included a 17-minute moment of silence for those lives lost in Parkland.

Featured below are photos from Wednesday’s walkout at Portsmouth High School.
