PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — What do you know about Portsmouth history? Teams and individuals are welcome to attend and test their knowledge at Portsmouth Historical Society’s History Trivia Night.
The Portsmouth Historical Society will host a History Trivia Night at Portsmouth’s historic Valley Inn on Thursday, April 20, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Contesting teams will be asked questions about Portsmouth’s past. Questions will be prepared by Town Historian and Historical Society President Jim Garman, who will also act as judge and scorekeeper for this event.
Due to space limitations, contestants will be limited to the first 12 teams who sign up for this contest by emailing phsinfo@portsmouthhistorical.
The trivia contest will be comprised of five Rounds of five questions each, with a short break in between rounds for scoring. Prizes will be given to the three teams with the highest scores.
There is no entry fee, but there will be a suggested donation to the Portsmouth Historical Society of $5 for members and $10 for non-members.
Check the Society’s website at www.portsmouthhistorical.org for more information.
The Valley Inn opens at 5 p.m. for anyone interested in dinner before the contest, but reservations are recommended.
