PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — Two Portsmouth thrift stores, literally located across the street from each other, are closing permanently.
The thrift store located at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 324 East Main Road, will close permanently on Wednesday, April 25. The shop is only open on Wednesdays and Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The building will be used as part of a new preschool on the property, according to store operators.
The thrift store at Aquidneck Island Christian Academy, located across the street at 321 East Main Road, will also close at the end of the school year.
The thrift store at Aquidneck Island Christian Academy will close permanently on Saturday, June 2. The last day for donations is Saturday, May 5.
The store is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
