Portsmouth woman to collect supplies for Puerto Rico

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — A Portsmouth woman and teacher at Pennfield School is collecting supplies to help out Puerto Ricans in need after the devastating effects of hurricanes. 

Maria Plupis Sanjurjo Takacs, a native of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, and Spanish teacher at The Pennfield School, is collecting aid supplies for the second weekend in a row. 

Takacs will collect canned goods, baby formula, toiletries, first aid or medical supplies, and disinfectant wipes on Saturday, Sept. 30, at 1230 Elmwood Ave., Providence. Water and clothing are not being collected at this time. 

If you would like to donate items with Takacs, please feel free to leave items at The Pennfield School, 110 Sandy Point Ave.; call the school at (401) 849-4646 and ask for Takacs; or reach out to her through Facebook Messenger.
