PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — Senator James “Jim” A. Seveney (D-Dist. 11, Bristol, Portsmouth and Tiverton) will hold a constituents meeting this weekend at Foodworks Restaurant on East Main Road.
The meeting will take place on Sunday, July 16, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the restaurant.
Senator Seveney sent out the following letter, inviting friends and constituents to the meeting.
Dear friends and Portsmouth Constituents,
I invite you to a constituents meeting to discuss your issues and topics of interest from the 2017 General Assembly session.
Where: FoodWorks Restaurant, East Main Rd
When: Sunday, July 16th from 1:30pm – 3:00pm
Needless to say, some major pieces of legislation, including the FY 2018 state budget, are in limbo and awaiting final completion. Hopefully we’ll reconvene soon to finish the work left undone on Friday, June 30th.
Come anytime between 1:30 – 3:00pm to discuss issues, expectations and the latest status on legislation of interest. I’ll also share my experiences and insights gained as a first term state senator. I invite you to stop by and let me know what you’re thinking.
Coffee and light snacks will be available. I hope to see you there.
