Seveney Wins Senate District 11 Race

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — Democrat James “Jim” Arthur Seveney defeated his political opponent, Republican John A. Pagliarini Jr., in the state Senate race for District 11, according to the Board of Elections Thursday.

The Board of Elections completed counting mail ballots on Thursday. The final tally was 6,571 votes or 51.7% for Seveney and 6,108 votes or 48.1% for Pagliarini. The district received approximately 1,616 mail ballots in total.
