PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — The strong Nor’easter, which caused havoc along the entire east coast this weekend, caused significant damage to the new Portsmouth Dog Park.
Officials announced the closure of the dog park, located near the Melville Ponds Campground, on Facebook Saturday.
However, on Sunday, the dog park issued a warning for any pet owners visiting the small dog area. Park organizers posted the following photos of damage from the storm.
The Portsmouth Dog Park, a labor of love for dog park committee chairwoman and visionary Bunny Miller, opened last May thanks to volunteers and fundraising.
