PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — A Portsmouth police officer has been suspended with pay after being arrested by State Police and charged with domestic, simple assault.
On May 4, Lt. George Grassi, a 17-year veteran of the Portsmouth Police Department, was arrested by the Rhode Island State Police and charged with domestic, simple assault, announced the Portsmouth Police Department in a press release Monday.
Lt. Grassi has been suspended with pay from the Portsmouth Police Department pending the disposition of his criminal case.
