Town to hold swearing-in ceremony for firefighters

Portsmouth residents reacted with mostly anger and frustration after the Portsmouth Town Council nearly doubled the Transfer Station sticker fee, the price to dispose of trash and recycling.

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — The Portsmouth Town Council will hold a swearing-in ceremony for the promotion of firefighters on Monday at Town Hall, 2200 East Main Road. 

The following officers will be promoted: 

Daniel P. Smith – to Captain

Brian P. Baker – to Lieutenant

Kevin M. Farley – to Private 1st Class

Greg P. Carcieri – to Private 2nd Class

Mark J. Silvia – to Private 3rd Class

Dylan J. Miniati – to Private 3rd Class

Harrison W. Jones – to Private 3rd Class

Jeffrey P. Dichristofaro – to Private 3rd Class

The Town Council will hold the swearing-in ceremony during its regular meeting Monday, which begins at 7 p.m.
