PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — The Portsmouth Town Council will hold a public hearing to discuss an ordinance for short-term rentals, such as the popular Airbnb type rentals, at its next meeting.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at Town Hall, 2200 East Main Road.
The Town Council is considering an ordinance to regulate short-term rentals in town.
As part of the ordinance, short-term rentals (any rental less than 31 consecutive days) would require registration, inspection, and a permit. The ordinance would also limit the number of people in a short-term rental to 2 guests between the hours of 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.
