PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — The Town Council will hold a workshop for interested residents regarding waste and recycling disposal options available to the residents of the town of Portsmouth.
From these discussions, the Town Council will decide the future of waste and recycling disposal options in Portsmouth.
According to a town press release, “The increased costs associated with waste disposal have given rise to the need to discuss the future of waste disposal in Portsmouth.
“Some options to be considered include: keeping the Transfer Station as is, transitioning to curbside pickup, adding pay-as-you-throw, or any combination of these options.
“The Town Council wants to hear your voice and opinion on this very important matter.”
The public workshop will be held Tuesday, August 29, at 7 p.m. in the Portsmouth Town Council chambers.
