PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — Town Historian and Portsmouth Historical Society President Jim Garman will discuss the history of local ferries and bridges at an upcoming lecture.
The lecture will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m. at the Common Fence Point Community Hall, 933 Anthony Road.
Garman will use photos from his own extensive personal collections to illustrate the evolution of bridges and ferries through the years.
This lecture is a Portsmouth Historical Society event in conjunction with the Common Fence Point Community Association. It is free and open to the public.
Wednesday evenings are also Food Truck nights at the Community Hall, with food trucks available outside the Hall from 5 to 7 p.m.
