Town to hold meeting to discuss trash options

Portsmouth residents reacted with mostly anger and frustration after the Portsmouth Town Council nearly doubled the Transfer Station sticker fee, the price to dispose of trash and recycling.

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — The town of Portsmouth will hold its next regularly scheduled Town Council meeting at the Portsmouth Middle School to accommodate an expected large audience interested in discussing trash options.

The next regularly scheduled Town Council meeting will be on Tuesday, Oct. 10, (due to the Monday fall holiday), at 7 p.m. at the Portsmouth Middle School auditorium, 125 Jepson Lane. 

The Town Council will discuss the continuation of the Transfer Station or implement a curbside pick-up program, in addition to other monthly business.
