PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — The town of Portsmouth is seeking volunteers to help citizens and keep them informed during emergencies.

Volunteers communicate information using the Internet and social media, provide other communications, distribute commodities and distribute mass medications.

Volunteers can be quickly trained to be part of the Internet Public Information (IPI) Team, the Emergency Communications Team, or a Medication Point of Distribution Member and spend a few hours to help the Town Emergency Operations Center during town incidents, such as storms and other disasters.

For more information or to volunteer, visit www.PortsmouthEmergency.com and click on “Volunteer,” or contact John King at jking@portsmouthri.com
