PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — The Portsmouth Town Council will discuss, and potentially vote, to award the Transfer Station contract to a new bidder at Monday’s council meeting.

The meeting will be held Monday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. at Town Hall, 2200 East Main Road.

The council will discuss the two lowest bidders for the Transfer Station contract: Waste Management and J.R. Vinagro.

The lowest bidder is J.R. Vinagro. The council’s choice could impact the price of a Transfer Station sticker, according to a document written by Town Administrator Richard A. Rainer.

From the public document submitted to the council:

The council will also hear and discuss a proposal to add the sticker price to the tax base, as requested by a town resident.

The entire council agenda can be viewed below. Use the PDF tools to scroll and zoom.
