Miami-Dade Police Department Director Alfredo Ramirez and his wife were in Tampa, Florida and attended the Florida Sheriffs Association conference at JW Marriott hotel. The Tampa Police Department responded to their room after receiving a report and recorded video from a witness that showed a verbal altercation between the couple.
In a published article in FOX News, Alfredo Ramirez allegedly threatened his wife “end it all” just hours before he shot himself while they were on their way home. The verbal altercation or the heated argument between the two was recorded by a witness who chose not to be named.
Tampa Police Department Handcuffed the Miami-Dade Police Director
According to a published report in New York Post, the witness called 911 after seeing Alfredo Ramirez pointing the gun at his head. When the officers arrived at the hotel to respond, the couple was already in their room.
The Tampa Police officers approached the door and shouted “Tampa Police! Tampa Police! Come out with your hands up. Hands up!” Alfredo Ramirez’s wife exited the room and told Ramirez multiple times to show his hands before he was moved and handcuffed.
