The Office of Resilience and Community Services announced that the application for up to $250 in the LIHEAP program will begin tomorrow.
LIHEAP Application Will Begin Tomorrow
The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) in Louisville, Kentucky will begin tomorrow, July 25, 2023. This aims to help qualified residents combat the effect of rising prices of energy. An amount of up to $250 will be sent to those who will qualify.
In a published article in GAZETTE, the Office of Resilience and Community Services officially announced the application. They also encouraged the residents to apply for the program and the subsidy will be given until September 22 or until the funding runs out.
Qualifications for the LIHEAP
According to a published article in GROUND NEWS, applicants for the program will qualify through the following:
- Applicants must be residents of Jefferson County and have a household income at or below 150% of the federal poverty guidelines.
- For a household of one, the maximum monthly income is $1,823, and for a household of four, the maximum income is $3,750.
- For each additional household member exceeding eight, the program adds $643 to the monthly income limit.
Furthermore, those who will qualify for this program will receive a one-time payment of $50 to $250. Moreover, the amount they will receive will depend on the income and housing status of the applicants.
