Former U.S. President George W. Bush was shocked when he saw a picture of him and Prigozhin
In a recent article published by Political Wire, former President George W. Bush was recently surprised to realize he was served by Wagner mercenary group boss Yevgeniy Prigozhin during a dinner with Russian President Vladimir Putin years ago, the Washington Post reports.
George W. Bush said he was not shocked by the recent death of Wagner mercenary boss Yevgeny Prigozhin in a plane crash. What shocked him is when he saw a picture the other day of a G-8 summit in St. Petersburg, where Yevgeny Prigozhin was the guy serving me the food.
Yevgeny Prigozhin is the Wagner mercenary group leader who recently died in a plane crash. Yevgeny Prigozhin was a close confidant of Russia President Vladimir Putin until he launched a rebellion in June 2023. He was born in June 1, 1961 and died last August 23, 2023.

Bush said Yevgeny Prigozhin was Putin’s chef during the Yalta European Strategy conference over the weekend in Kyiv, where he appeared by video feed from Texas. In 2006, Bush and his wife, Laura, were at a dinner with Vladimir Putin. The photo of the occasion shows Yevgeny Prigozhin holding out a wine bottle to Bush.
The former president didn’t remember meeting Yevgeny Prigozhin until recently. He added that what he knows he survived. Yevgeny Prigozhin was a restaurateur at the time, and Putin took a liking to his food. He soon became a close ally—and went on to become a mercenary power player and increasingly critical of Russia’s military strategy in Ukraine.
In June, Yevgeny Prigozhin Wagner troops invaded the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don and marched toward Moscow. Two months later to that day, Yevgeny Prigozhin was dead. At the conference, Bush also said the U.S. should not ask Ukraine to cede land to an invader to reach a peace agreement.
