A 48-year-old patient in New York City repeatedly stabbed a female EMT responder inside the ambulance during a transport on Wednesday night.
Patient-Turned-Psycho in New York City
A female EMT responder from Mount Sinai Health Systems was repeatedly stabbed by a 48-year-old man in New York City inside the ambulance during transport on Wednesday night. Police authorities identified the patient-turned-psycho as Rudy Garcia.
In a published article in FOX News, Garcia stabbed the EMT responder in the arm and leg repeatedly when the ambulance was parked in the Upper West Side area near Mt. Sinai Hospital when the attack incident happened. Police authorities did not name the EMT responder.
Moreover, Garcia has been charged with three counts of assault and criminal possession of a weapon. The New York Police Department also confirmed that they immediately arrested Garcia.
NYPD Released a Statement
According to a published report in NBC New York, the NYPD said, On Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at approximately 2053 hours, police responded to a 911 call of an assault [in] the vicinity of Mount Sinai Hospital West (1000 10th Avenue), within the confines of the Midtown North Precinct. Upon arrival, officers were informed that [a] 25-year-old female was stabbed numerous times about the body.”
Additionally, the police department also said, “The victim [was] removed to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital by EMS in stable condition. The investigation remains ongoing.”
