Following the special counsel appointment by the Department of Justice, leading House Republicans are alleging that the Biden administration is seeking to obstruct their investigation of Hunter Biden.
David Weiss, the federal prosecutor from Delaware who oversaw the investigation against the special counsel appointment of Hunter Biden, was named by Attorney General Merrick Garland on Friday as a special counsel in charge of the inquiry.
According to McCarthy on X (Twitter) on his view of the special counsel appointment, if Weiss negotiated the sweetheart deal that couldn’t be approved, how can he be trusted as a Special Counsel? This action by the Biden administration’s DOJ cannot be used to thwart congressional inquiries or cover up the criminality of the Biden family.
The said special counsel appointment for Russell Dye, a representative for Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, is only a new attempt to cover up the criminality of the Biden family.
Republicans have harshly criticized the special counsel appointment and the way the Biden tax investigation was conducted, citing allegations made by two IRS whistleblowers that Weiss was prevented from requesting special counsel status. Weiss and the DOJ have continuously refuted this accusation.
IRS investigators Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler, the whistleblowers, also asserted that the Justice Department dragged its feet in the matter of the special counsel appointment, offered Biden preferential treatment, and chose not to press charges despite stronger evidence in other locations.
According to Russel Dye with regards to the issue of the special counsel appointment of Hunter Biden, Weiss has already approved a sweetheart plea agreement that a federal judge rejected because it was so bad and unfair.
Weiss’ contradictory remarks to Congress and the information revealed by courageous whistleblowers about Biden’s special counsel appointment will both be investigated further.
James Comer, the chairman of the House Oversight Committee and a Republican from Kentucky, described the action as ‘part of the Justice Department’s attempts to attempt a Biden family coverup’ for the special counsel appointment.
Comer and Jordan have spearheaded efforts to look into the commercial practices of the Biden family, and they have harshly criticized the Justice Department’s handling of its investigation into Hunter Biden.
