A woman from North Carolina won $4 million in a brand-new scratch-off lottery game, but she only kept less than half of the winnings because she wanted the money right now.
On a $30 Black Titanium ticket, Diane Howard from Clinton, some 63 miles southeast of Raleigh, won millions through scratch-off lottery game.
Howard had one of the six $4 million winning tickets when the lottery was first presented in June. She purchased the scratch-off lottery game ticket at a Warsaw Circle K convenience store. Howard went to collect her award from scratch-off lottery game on Monday.
She had the option of taking a lump sum payment of $2.4 million or $4 million in annuity payments of $200,000 spread out over the following 20 years from scratch-off lottery game.
According to the North Carolina Education Lottery, in winning from scratch-off lottery game, Howard chose to accept the one-time payment and left with $1,710,009 after paying state and federal taxes. In addition, 16 $100,000 prizes from scratch-off lottery game were up for grabs when the Black Titanium game made its debut at the start of the summer.
In the state’s easternmost little hamlet of Warsaw, Circle K, Diane Howard of Clinton, North Carolina, purchased her ticket to join scratch-off lottery game.
On Monday, Howard visited the lottery’s administrative office where she won from scratch-off lottery game, also where she had the option of claiming a lump sum payment or an annuity award of $200,000 over 20 years (before taxes). After deducting state and federal taxes, Howard chose the lump sum and received $1.7 million in his bank account from her win in joning the scratch-off lottery game.
According to lottery officials, there are four $4 million prizes and twelve $100,000 prizes from the Black Titanium game that are either still in stores or have been sold but have not yet been claimed by the winners of scratch-off lottery game..
