Dalvin Cook sensationally revealed he opted to join the New York Jets to follow Aaron Rodgers after the four-time MVP took a monster pay cut.

According to Foxnews, Dalvin Cook attended his inauguration as a New York Jet on Thursday in Florham Park, New Jersey.

The running back has had a protracted offseason after being dismissed earlier this year by the Minnesota Vikings due to cap issues.

Cook visited with a couple teams before making his final decision, one of which was a Super Bowl contender.

When questioned by reporters about his decision, Cook mentioned that the Jets’ new four-time MVP quarterback was a significant factor. Cook and Rodgers were NFC North rivals.

Cook said, “You know, after being on the other side of that for the last six years, I couldn’t be on the other side no longer. It was a major deal for me to come over here since I had the opportunity to go join them and aid in their victory.

When Cook was abruptly released by the Minnesota Vikings earlier this offseason, he quickly rose to become one of the most sought-after free agents on the market.

According to Mirror.co, Due to Breece Hall’s current condition as a rookie coming off an ACL tear, the Jets needed choices at running back.

After a protracted courtship in which he evaluated his market following his shocking release, Cook finally signed with the Jets on Thursday. Cook was let go by the company to save money on the cap, but he is still one of the best running backs in the NFL and is a big win for the Jets.

After 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers in the NFC North, Rodgers left the team and New York has tried to assemble a competitive group around him. When asked by reporters why he selected the Jets, Cook, the newest high-profile signing, said Rodgers’ influence was a major role.
