The FTX founder’s legal team is pushing for a temporary release of SBF ahead of his scheduled October trial.
FTX founder, Sam Bankman-Fried, is seeking temporary release from jail ahead of his trial scheduled on October 3rd.
The filing of the FTX founder’s legal team late on AUgust 25 argued that SBF has exercised his First Ammendemt rights by sharing the personal witing of caroline Ellison, former Alamedua Research CEO, to the New York Times.
The court filing statd that the FTX founder’s actions were aimed at his protection rather than harassing Ellison, a former member of his inner circle. The FTX founder was also under fire for attempting to influence the former general counsel of FTX US, Ryan Miller, who is also a potential witness to the lawsuit against SBF.

SBF’s legal team also highlighted the lack of computer access at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center, where the FTX founder is being held. His lawyers have claimed that this prevented Bankman-Fried from analyzing evidence and preparing for trial.
Sam Bankman-Fried was previously granted bail and was in house arrest at his parents’ house in Palo Alto but this was revoked just this month due to violations of conditions, like alleged tampering with witnesses. He is now to remain at the Metropolitan Detention Center until his October trial.
