One terrible Wednesday, Lilie James, a young lady with a bright future ahead of her, did not come home from work. Her family phoned the police out of concern for her safety, which prompted a welfare check at her workplace—a famous inner-city school in Sydney. At the same time, Paul Thijssen, a 24-year-old coworker of Ms. James’s who worked as a sports assistant at the school, placed a triple-0 call.
It was estimated that the two had been dating for around five weeks. Sadly, Mr. Thijssen led the authorities to Lilie James’s corpse’s location.
When the police arrived to St Andrew’s Cathedral School on Wednesday just before midnight, they found something extremely unsettling. Finding Ms James, who had “serious” head injuries, they went to the school’s toilet near the gym. This horrific scene led to an instant inquiry into murder.
Superintendent Martin Fileman emphasized the horrifying aspect of the occurrence by describing the situation as “quite confronting” for the responding cops. The New South Wales (NSW) Police have tracked the two people’s movements using CCTV video from the school to help in their investigation.
The police set up a second crime scene at Diamond Bay Reserve in Vaucluse while the hunt for Paul Thijssen got underway, and there they found objects connected to the killing. Understandably heartbroken by their loss, Ms. James’s family has written a statement requesting privacy at this trying time. They described their beloved Lilie as lively, gregarious, and well liked by family and friends, and they expressed their tremendous sorrow over her passing.
