In a devastating incident that unfolded in San Jose, California, a young expectant mother lost her life in a tragic hit-and-run car accident. Miraculously, doctors managed to save her unborn child in a life-saving emergency surgery.
The collision occurred at around 8:42 p.m. on a fateful Tuesday evening, in the vicinity of Blossom Hill Road and Winfield Boulevard in San Jose, according to a media advisory from the San Jose Police Department. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as 21-year-old April Zoglauer, a resident of San Jose.

Zoglauer was driving eastbound in a 2008 black Nissan sedan when her vehicle collided with a 2013 white Hyundai sedan, which was traveling southbound. The white sedan was occupied by two unidentified males who fled the scene on foot immediately following the accident. The San Jose Police Department (SJPD) has disclosed that during the initial stages of the investigation, it was determined that the white sedan was, in fact, a stolen vehicle.
As of now, the SJPD has confirmed that the investigation is still ongoing, and there are no new updates available at this time.
