The Los Angeles Chargers are on the rise. Yet, while they may seem to have the pieces to win, they have yet to see real success. As the team head to the 2023 season, their focus is on winning and only winning.
Star defensive end of the Los Angeles Chargers, Joey Bosa, discussed his urgency to win this year, saying the importance is on helping his team win, rather than to boost his own stats.
Joey Bosa clarified his comment, explaining that he always wanted to win, but as he gets older, he knows that the time he is left in the league is slowly diminishing. Joey Bosa said that as he gets older, the opportunities get smaller and smaller. Stating that a rookie will have their entire career ahead of them.
Joey Bosa also said that his perspective changed as he got older, with more emphasis on the team’s success rather than his owns. He stated that his personal goals and personal accolades just don’t quite mean as much as he got older. He said that winning Defensive Player of the Year would be an honor but going out there with his team members that he has built connection with is a much more lasting accomplishment.

Joey Bosa was named the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year and was selected to four Pro Bowls. With 301 tackles, 60.5 sacks, 14 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries and two pass deflections.
Joey Bosa played the first three games last season before a groin injury that kept him in the sideline for 12 weeks. He returned for the final two regular season games and the postseason game, He has made 2.5 sacks and 6 quarterback hits in 2022. Joey Bosa has four Pro Bowl tips but he prefers a Super Bowl trip, somewhere the Chargers have not been since 1994.
