2. Lake City, SC – Lake City is one of the most dangerous places in South Carolina as the chances of being victim of violent crime are 1 in 56. 
3. Spartanburg, SC – this city is one of the most dangerous places in South Carolina as your chances of being a victim of violent crime are in 1 in 66.
4. Hartsville, SC – This city is part of the list of the most dangerous places in South Carolina as the chances of being a victim to violent crime are 1 in 70.
5. Bishopville, SC – This city is the fifth in the list of the most dangerous places in South Carolina, as the area of Brownstown has a serious violent crime history. Your chances of being victim to violent crime in this city are 1 in 78.

1. Orangeburg, SC – This tops the list made by Southwest Journal for the most dangerous places in South Carolina. Despite having excellent academic, Orangeburg holds the distinction of having the highest violent crime rate in Soith Carolina. 
2. Darlington, SC – This city has recentyy seen an uptick in property crime, ranking this as one of the most dangerous places in South Carolina.
3. Florence, SC – This is the third in the list of the most dangerous places in South Carolina as Florence has recorded the 8th highest burglary rate stateside. 
4. Spartanburg, SC – Despite the effort to preserve the nature at their Hatcher Garden and the Woodland Preserve, it still could not preserve the safety of its residents, with more than one burglary on a daily average.
5. Myrtle Beach, SC – While the city’s violent crimes have seen a decline, the property crime of the city is the cause of concern, as residents had a 1 in 11 chance of being a victim of damage or theft. Myrtle beach has the highest overall crime rate in the state.
