The most dangerous cities in the US might surprise you given that some of these regions were only recently deemed to be unsafe.

Detroit, Michigan, is ranked as the second most dangerous cities in the US. Annual violent crime in Detroit totals 14,589, with a violent crime rate per 1,000 population, Michigan is considered as one of the most dangerous cities in the US.

Memphis, Tennessee, which has a crime index of 0, is the most dangerous cities in the US. Memphis encounters a lot of violent crime and is no safer than any other American city. In Memphis, there are 15,798 violent crimes committed annually, with a violent crime rate of 25.15 per 1,000 persons considered as the most dangerous cities in the US.

There are both huge cities and small ones on the list, with Memphis and Detroit having the largest populations of over 600,000 and ranking as one of the most dangerous cities in the US.
